230 5-6 year old children in Reykjavík performed and sang alongside 60 pre-studies students from the music school in Grafarvogur. The school’s orchestra and Skólahljómsveit Grafarvogs accompanied them.
The Master’s Rainbow is a collaborative project between Tónlistarskólinn í Grafarvogi, Skólahljómsveit Grafarvogs, and Tónskóli Sigursveins, involving ten kindergartens in Reykjavík, focusing on songs by well-known Icelandic composers and poets. This time, the composers of the year are Egill Ólafsson, Bjóla, and Valgeir Guðjónsson, who receive this honor. Haraldur Sveinbjörnsson arranges the pieces, while the students from the music school accompany the children’s singing. Everyone is welcome to see and hear over 300 children participate, singing and playing from the heart with passion and spirit. The time we share together is unforgettable for both the children on stage and the audience in the hall. Special thanks to Tónskóli Sigursveins for their guidance and Grafarvogskirkja for their hospitality and warm welcome.
