In its 34th year, Tónlistarskólinn í Grafarvogi has received a new name and logo. The school, which is among the largest music schools in Reykjavík, has grown significantly in recent years and has expanded beyond Grafarvogur. The school now also has locations in Grafarholt, Úlfarsárdalur and Háaleiti-Bústaðir. The new name, Tónskólinn í Reykjavík, better reflects all the students who attend the school and the neighborhoods in which it operates.

A new school year has begun, and the excitement is high. Students are presented with new pieces and new goals. Some are starting their music education, others are more experienced, and some are even getting to know new teachers.

Collaboration with individuals and communities can yield endless rewards. This photo is from a recording session that took place on Tuesday. There, the Children's and Youth Choirs of Grafarvogur and the Choir of Hamraskóli recorded songs for a radio mass.

230 5-6 year old children in Reykjavík performed and sang alongside 60 pre-studies students from the music school in Grafarvogur. The school's orchestra and Skólahljómsveit Grafarvogs accompanied them.
